Stop Modern Day Slavery in Brazil - Give Up Pig Iron Vehicles Now

One good reason to be Car-Free in Memphis, Tennessee, is that we are getting our vehicle parts from slave labor.  However, we could be making whole vehicles, including all parts from hemp like Ford Motor Company once did. Ford built the first hemp vehicles that could hardly be dented when several people gathered around one and pounded it with sledge hammers, or so they say. But today, one can sit or lean on most any Ford car and nearly crush it to the point of looking like it's been hit by a head on collision. The reason for this is that the current designs for today's vehicles are made from cheap pig iron and even produced in the deep jungle by slave labor. And not to mention the white-female slave trade for prostitution from Russia and Poland, among other parts of the world. So give up you vehicles if you can. Or better yet, insist on changing all vehicle designs to hemp models. And for God's sake let's end the prostitution rings in that Country and ours.

Inaugural "Rolling For Independence" Fundraiser with the Memphis Center For Independent Living

Volunteers for this event braved the wind and rain to spread themselves out along a five-mile bike-riding path to point participants in the right direction and cheer them on.

Ron Gephart stepped up to led the "Rolling For Independence" bike riders off the parking lot, as depicted in the Commercial Appeal photo-of-the-day.

Despite the stormy weather, foggy eye-glasses with rain rolling down the lenses, and a recent hip replacement, Ron saved the day by bringing much needed attention to the cause.

Ron is a City of Memphis theater guru with 40 years of production, acting, and directing experience under his belt, among other related titles and accolades.

I was just glad to take part in this bike-ride and the festivities afterwords.

In closing, I want to give my deepest appreciation for my own personal sponsors.

I could not have done this without them:
In fact, I introduced Tony's Transit-Pup to several people at this fundraiser; and make no mistake about it; they were truly impressed!

Afterwards, I crossed the street to go shopping and was able to pile 65 lbs. worth of groceries into the Transit- Pup from the CASH SAVER; and believe you me; people were asking where they could get their Transit-Pup!

Once I showed people what all the Transit-Pup can do, they assumed it would cost them a king's ransom.

And it is certainly worth a king's ransom, too, but this is only an entry level trailer folks!

Yet the Transit-Pup can be taken onto a public transit bus, pulled behind a bicycle, or rolled along any sidewalk while walking with your family and friends.

You will just be glad that you bought your Transit-Pup!

Harahan Bridge Project Adds Walk/Bike Route Across River

I can hardly wait for this Harahan Bridge Project to be completed. Moreover, it is equally feasible to plan for and implement walk-bike paths throughout our whole city for practical every day utilitarian purposes. Memphis and Shelby County seriously needs an alternative car-free mode of transportation choice for it's citizens. It would be like icing on a cake, as the price for gas is going up up up!

Peak Everything -- Why Everything Costs More - Yahoo! Finance

I suggest you read this whole article. Get an overview of all the shortages in production that are going to raise prices along with demands world wide. We must cut back. We can do this simply by cutting out all of our non essential goods and services. This will flatten out our over all consumption levels. Even if we do this, many resources have peaked long ago. The most important of these resources is our water supply. To conserve, I ride my bike, walk, take mass transit, or car pool. I also believe in redesigning our community into a carfree city so that we can live a green lifestyle. If you want to do the same thing then we need to get our heads together to make this happen.  Join Car-Free Memphis and Take Action!
